CONCYCLE® Story - Always close to the Wind
Since the emergence of the wind power industry Woodward SEG has
been setting technological and economical standards in the
efficient use of this important and trendsetting renewable energy
source.
2006
A modular converter platform for the multi-megawatt class
is created with the new CONCYCLE® wind design NG06. Innovative
solutions for the future are developed in close cooperation with
the customer: - consideration of all aspects of the mains supply
and grid codes - full converter solutions - competence in system
simulations - concepts and solutions for protection and mains
protection of entire wind farms - patent consultation.
2002 - 2005
CONCYCLE® wind sets benchmarks in the product innovation:
For the approved power rating of 1.5 MW to 1.7 MW the compact and
modular system design NG03 emerges. The CONCYCLE® systems with a
rating of 3.6 MW and 5.0 MW are successfully established in the
offshore market. CONCYCLE® follows the multi-megawatt class market
trend with products of a rating of 2.x MW, 3.x MW and 5.0 MW and it
constantly adjusts to the latest international grid code
requirements. This is verified by simulations and successful field
tests according to the latest regulations.
1999 - 2001
CONCYCLE® wind grows with the requirements for function
and rating into the international market. Systems for a rating of
1.0 MW to 1.5 MW are the basis of a broad serial production. The
international market demands system variations for 50 Hz and 60 Hz
as well as the consideration of regional market requirements. The
first UL designs are successfully approved. Systems with CONCYCLE®
wind converters are also successfully operated outside of
Europe. The service network expands internationally.
1996 - 1998
The CONCYCLE® technology is based on more than 25 years
of experience with products and systems for decentralised power
generation, speed independent converter systems for marine and
industrial UPS application as well as their protection and control
engineering. With this technological know-how Woodward SEG
developed the first CONCYCLE® wind systems for the upcoming wind
market for systems with a rating of 500 kW, 600 kW and 750 kW.
